Dry Eye Clinic

Let’s talk about Dry Eye Syndrome. Dry Eyes affect most of us throughout our lives, but really throughout each day!

Dry eyes used to be only for those of us who wear contact lenses or have certain systemic conditions cause dry eyes. However, with our ever growing hours of screen time, we are exposing not only our eyes to blue light more, but the glands in our lids that make our tears! These glands are called meibomian glands- which produce the oils in our tears that keep them healthy and enable them to keep our eyes feeling lubricated. Through current studies, we are learning that the longer these glands are exposed to blue light they start to change the productivity to keep our eyes feeling good. Well…bummer… BUT.. the doctors at Southwest Vision have the experience and technology necessary to manage this condition quickly and for the long haul.

We have a specialized Dry Eye Clinic within our practice where we measure the quantity of your tears and asses the functionality of your meibomian glands so we can treat your eyes most effectively.

Some treatments attempt to add more liquid to your tears, but without the complex natural oil, tears continue to evaporate faster than produced. MORE ABOUT LIPIFLOW®

    TrueTear®

    Learn More

TrueTear® is a new state-of-the-art Dry Eye Treatment now available. TrueTear® causes your eyes to produce their own natural tears using tiny pulses of energy. These pulses activate a natural response through a clever technology called neurostimulation. The TrueTear® tip stimulates a nerve in the nasal cavity with tiny pulses of energy, sending out nerve signals to the brain. The brain then sends nerve signals to the tear glands, and those glands react and temporarily produce new tears. MORE ABOUT TRUETEAR®
